Joining an ad hoc or scheduled meeting in Bluescape has never been easier. In just a few clicks, you’ll be able to join a meeting and begin collaborating with the team right away.
Joining an Ad-Hoc Meeting
Great for impromptu huddles or quick syncs, Bluescape makes it easy to join ad-hoc meetings.
There are two ways you can join an ad-hoc meeting in Bluescape:
- From meeting details provided to you by the meeting organizer
- From inside a workspace
How to join ad-hoc meetings in Bluescape
Joining after receiving meeting details
- A meeting organizer sends you meeting details to join. The meeting details include the following:
- A meeting link (at times, only a meeting link is provided)
- Dial-in information
- Meeting ID
- Password
- To join the meeting, choose the best method for you.
Note: A meeting link is the quickest way to enter. If you decide to join via dial-in, you are placed in a waiting room until the host admits you.
- Once you have clicked on the meeting link, you are directed to a meeting dialogue box that prompts you to Join Call.
. Before joining the meeting, you can enable or disable your microphone and camera by clicking the and icons.
- Click Join Call when ready. You have now entered the meeting and can proceed accordingly.
- (Optional) If it’s your first time joining a meeting in Bluescape, you may want to check your AV settings. Select AV Settings to configure. Learn more: Configuring AV Settings.
Joining from inside a workspace
- To join a meeting inside a workspace, select Join Meeting in the top-right corner of the workspace.
- The same dialogue box as above appears.
- Before joining the meeting, you can enable or disable your microphone and camera by clicking the and icons.
- Click Join Call when ready. You have entered the meeting inside a workspace and can collaborate in real time with other members.
Joining a Scheduled Meeting
You can also join a scheduled meeting in Bluescape. To participate in a scheduled meeting, you must receive the details before the meeting. These details can come directly from your meeting organizer, Outlook, or any other scheduling platform.
How to join a scheduled meeting in Bluescape
- A meeting organizer sends you meeting details to join directly or invites you to a scheduled meeting through a meeting scheduling platform such as Outlook. The meeting details include the following:
- A meeting link (at times, only a meeting link is provided)
- Dial-in information
- Meeting ID
- Password

To join the meeting, choose the method that is best for you.
Note: A meeting link is the quickest way to enter. If you decide to join via dial-in, you are placed in a waiting room until the host admits you.
2. Once you have clicked on the meeting link, you are directed to a browser that prompts you to Join Call.
3. You can enable or disable your microphone and camera before joining the meeting by clicking the and icons, respectively. Select Join call.
4. Click Join Call. You have now entered the meeting and can proceed accordingly.
5. (Optional) If it’s your first time joining a meeting in Bluescape, you may want to check your AV settings. Click the AV Settings icon to configure. Learn more: Configuring AV Settings.
Blurring Your Background
When you join a meeting, you have the option to blur your background. From the Join Meeting page, select the (Settings) icon and toggle the Use Background Blur option to on. Select Done to continue.
During the Meeting
Once you Join call, you’ll notice the meeting features two tabs:
- Bluescape Meeting
- Meeting Workspace
The Bluescape Meeting tab opens by default and displays all participants in a grid view.
Note: Bluescape supports a speaker view so you can see who is talking at any moment during the meeting. When a participant is speaking, their initials or camera displays above other participants.
The Meeting Workspace tab provides an automatically generated single-click workspace for instant collaboration in the meeting. Any attendee can interact with the workspace in this tab.
Note: The type of meeting workspace (an existing or scratch workspace) will depend on where the organizer generates the meeting invitation.
Joining a meeting using the Safari browser
Attendees can use the Safari browser to join and participate in Webex meetings. Note: Only the front-facing camera is currently supported for this option.
