Adding Text to a Workspace

Use text boxes, notecards, and shapes to add text to a workspace. Formatting options vary based on the tool you use to add text.

Adding Text

  1. Select the :text: Text button from the workspace toolbar.

  2. Hover your cursor over the workspace area where you want to place your text, and select to insert it. The text box appears in the workspace along with its associated toolbar.

  3. As you type or paste text into the text box, it will expand horizontally. When you select the text box, anchor points appear on each side, allowing you to grab and extend or reduce the text box’s width.

  4. Use the toolbar options to format your text. A checkmark in the dropdown font menu indicates your current font selection.

After you select and use a toolbar option, the focus returns to the text box.

Editing Text

Edit mode allows you to modify specific content within the text box; all actions available in Edit mode are specific to the text you highlight.

There are two ways to edit a text box:

  • Double-select the text box.
  • Single-select the text box to highlight it, then press Enter (PC) or Return (Mac) on your keyboard.

When a text box is selected but not in Edit mode, you have access to all of the same text formatting options in the toolbar, and changes you make will apply to all of the text in the text box.

BluePro Tip: Double-clicking an object when it is part of a multi-selection will immediately activate text edit mode.

Live Text Editing

Other users in the workspace will see text edits live as well as a visual indicator showing who is currently editing the text.
