Updating Bluescape for Windows Wall Client

We’ve upgraded the Bluescape experience for large-format displays. The previous Wall client is no longer available and will not be maintained. Learn how to install the native application on your device today.
Bluescape regularly releases new features or bug fixes. If you are using version 19.11.01 or later, the Bluescape for Windows Wall client automatically prompts you to update upon a new release.

Note: To ensure you receive the automatic updates each release, we recommend that you leave your Windows controller/PC turned on overnight for at least one night every month.

How do I determine the current Bluescape version?

To check your Bluescape for Windows version:

  1. Tap the System Info link at the bottom left of the Lobby.

  2. The System Info panel opens with the current release version listed in the Release line.

How do I update to 19.11.01?

To manually apply an available update:

  1. Log in to the Windows Wall computer as an administrator.

  2. Right-click the Bluescape Enterprise icon located on the desktop.

  3. Select Run as administrator.

  4. If prompted, enter the administrator password.
    The Lobby redirects to the Update Wizard.

  5. On the first screen of the Wizard, select Update components.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Click Next again.

  8. Click Update.

  9. Deselect the Run Bluescape Enterprise now checkbox.

  10. Click Finish. Do not click Restart or the Update Wizard will be initiated again.

What happens when a non-administrator logs in to Bluescape when an update is available?

If a non-administrator runs the Bluescape for Windows application when an update is available, a pop-up window opens prompting the non-administrator to contact the IT administrator to perform the update.

How do I uninstall and reinstall Bluescape for Windows?

If you are not running version 19.11.01 and cannot update manually, you must uninstall and reinstall Bluescape for Windows.

However, if you are using a local.cfg file to store custom Wall configurations, you must save it first before uninstalling; otherwise, your configurations will be lost.

To save your local.cfg file:

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Bluescape.
  2. Locate your local.cfg file.
  3. Right-click and copy the file.
  4. Paste the file into a different directory where it can be retrieved later.

To uninstall Bluescape for Windows:

  1. Login with the Administrator account used to install Bluescape for Windows.

  2. Click the Windows icon.

  3. The Start menu opens. Click Settings.

  4. The Settings menu opens. Click the System option.

  5. Click Apps & features from the left-hand pane.

  6. A list of all installed apps appears in the right pane. Locate and select Bluescape.

  7. Click the Uninstall button.

  8. After the uninstall is successful, ensure that the Bluescape folder is removed from the following locations:

  • Default target directory path: C:\Program Files\Bluescape.
  • Auth directory: C:\ProgramData\Bluescape.

To reinstall Bluescape for Windows:

  1. Download the latest installer for Bluescape for Windows here.
  2. Proceed through the installation wizard.
  3. After the wizard is complete, paste your local.cfg file into the new target directory path (C:\Program Files\Bluescape), if applicable.
  4. Start the Bluescape for the Windows application and ensure the lobby screen opens.
