Edits Not Syncing Across Team Members in Bluescape Workspace

I’m encountering a persistent issue with Bluescape; and I’m hoping someone here can help or has faced a similar problem. When working in a shared workspace; edits or updates made by one person aren’t consistently syncing across all team members in real-time. This is causing confusion; as some users see the updated content while others still see the older version; even after refreshing the workspace. :upside_down_face:

The main issues we’ve observed include delayed edits where updates to documents, sticky notes; or visual content take a long time to reflect on other users’ screens. Even after refreshing or reopening the workspace; some collaborators don’t see the changes immediately. There’s also partial syncing; where certain elements update for some users, while others remain out of sync. For example; a newly uploaded image ; a modified sticky note might appear for half the team; but others still see the previous version or nothing at all.

We’ve also noticed cross-device syncing issues. Whether we access the workspace on Mac; Windows; or mobile, the problem persists. This makes me wonder if it’s a broader syncing issue within Bluescape; regardless of the device or operating system being used.

Additionally; we’ve experienced lag when multiple team members are adding or editing content at the same time. This leads me to think it might be related to the syncing issue; though we’ve confirmed that our internet connection is stable and strong.

I have tried refreshing the workspace, logging in and out; clearing browser cache, and even using different browsers like Chrome and Firefox. We’ve also checked for system ; app updates and accessed the workspace on both desktop and mobile. However; none of these steps have resolved the issue.

Are there any additional steps we haven’t tried that could help resolve the syncing problems? Could this be related to the file types ; size of the content in the workspace? We work with large media files regularly. Also, is there a way to force a full sync across all users / reset the workspace to ensure everyone is on the same version?

Thank you for reaching out, and we apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused. I want to gather more information to aid the investigation.

  • How old is this workspace, and is it significant in size and has a lot of content?
  • Does this happen with all workspaces?
  • Are all users affected or is it intermittent?
  • Are the system resources being heavily impacted for these users? Are many browser windows and applications open and/or running in the background?
  • Is their network connection stable? Is a VPN in use?
  • Are there any error messages that eventually appear?
  • How is this workspace scaled, and what is the zoom level when the workspace loads, i.e., are objects in the workspace enlarged to be visible at <1%? When objects are scaled to be visible at a far-out zoom level, this can cause an impact on the overall performance when loading the workspace due to the cache & the viewport needing to render all objects in the viewport.

We suggested the following in hopes of improving the performance of larger workspaces with a large amount content:

  • Delete old content that is not necessary.
  • Zoom in when navigating around.
  • Space content out.
  • Use different navigation functionalities (i.e., search feature).
  • Limit how often you close the tab of the workspace.
  • Minimize other programs running on your computer.
  • Make sure your internet connection is stable.
  • Create multiple workspaces as you progress through a project.
