Updating the Bluescape for desktop application for Mac
As part of the Q3 2025 release, Mac users will need to manually update their Bluescape for Desktop application.
This will be a one-time process and once completed, the application will auto-update going forward.
Follow the steps below to update your desktop application:
-
Launch the current Bluescape for desktop application on your Mac. You will see a notification to download the new application.
-
Click the link to download the new version of the application.
Note: You can also download the new version of the application from the download page of the Bluescape website. -
Once downloaded, it is recommended that you uninstall the old application before running the installer for the new version.
-
Install the new application.
-
On first launch there will be a system prompt to allow Bluescape access to confidential information stored in “Bluescape Safe Storage” in the user’s keychain.
-
To keep your saved login information, enter your password and click Always Allow.
-
To reset your login information:
- Click Deny
- Close the app
- Open Keychain Access and delete the Bluescape Secure Storage application password
- Relaunch the app.
- Troubleshooting
- If you have issues with connecting to Bluescape after re-installing, you should be able to remove the app-config file and the app will re-generate one for you. To do this, close the bluescape app and run the following command from the terminal:
rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/Bluescape/app-config.json
- If you have issues with camera or desktop screen share, try to remove the camera / mic permissions from the application in your OS settings, then re-launch Bluescape and accept the permissions again. Because this app has the same name as the previous version, those settings don’t always transfer.
