OneDrive Link documents in a Workspace display “Refused to Connect” when attempting to View or 'Open’

Support Note
The below topic outlines a known issue that members may encounter. Bluescape is aware of this issue and is actively working on a resolution.
Update: The issue outlined below was due to change Microsoft made. It appears this has been resolved. Our team is in communication with the Microsft team to confirm the update is permanent.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Navigate to any Bluescape workspace with an existing OneDrive Link document and/or upload a new document.
  2. Click Open.
  3. An error message displays “Refused to connect”.

Expected results

Selecting “Open” on any OneDrive Link document should result in the member being able to view the document in Bluescape.

Actual results

Selecting Open on any OneDrive Link document results in a “refused to connect” error message and does not allow the Member to view the document.

Workaround

Follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Select the OneDrive Link document, and click the ellipsis menu.
  2. Click the :more_options: (More Options) icon.
  3. Select Open in Office 365 instead of using the Open button. This will open the document for editing in an alternate browser tab.

User tip: You might consider adding this snippet to inform other users in the workspace how to open the OneDrive living document for editing (so they don’t click ‘open’ which currently results in the connection error message). Simply add a notecard with similar instructional copy:

To view/edit this document:

  • Click the icon (More options)
  • Open in Office 365 (this will open the document in an alternate browser tab)
