Bluescape Compatible HDMI Capture Devices

Bluescape customers frequently display locally HDMI based content over a Bluescape workspace. Devices commonly used are external PCs, laptops, Apple TV and Chromecast devices, as well as video conferencing codecs, among other potential inputs.  Bluescape has tested several USB based HDMI capture devices for proper operation with the Bluescape application. At this time, a variety of different devices have been successfully tested. Three of the devices listed will operate within Bluescape without any configuration, two require the addition of a configuration file to operate successfully. This list is not exhaustive, and there is potential for other devices to function properly. Several tested devices not listed were unsupported.

USB Capture HDMI Gen 2

This device is capable of capturing and displaying external signals up to 2048×2160 pixels.

Operation of either of these capture devices requires the creation of a configuration file “local.cfg” placed within “(install drive)  c:\ProgramData\Bluescape\”. 

Within this file, the member should add the following text strings:

For the Magewell device, the user should add the following text strings:

Multiple devices may be used simultaneously, limited only by system resources.
