Adding a Voice Note

Voice Notes are a great way to provide feedback in review and approval workflows from within the workspace.

Voice Notes are represented in the workspace as a media widget with a microphone icon to distinguish them from videos.

To add a Voice Note to the workspace:

  1. Click the :add_content: (Add Content) button on the workspace toolbar.

  2. Select :voice_note: Voice Note from the menu.

  3. The Add Voice Note window will appear. Here you can select your microphone and preview your input volume.
     

  4. Select Start Recording.

  5. You will see the recording controls appear at the top of the workspace, and you may begin recording your audio.
     

  6. The control bar shows the following information:

  • The timer showing the length of your recording
  • The :pause: pause button to pause and resume your recording
  • The :restart: restart button to cancel ther current recording and start over
  • The Stop button to stop the recording and add it to the workspace
  • The :cross: cancel button to cancel the recording
  1. Select the Stop button when you are finished to stop the recording and add the Voice Note to the workspace.
     

Voice Note Playback

  1. Once added, you can play the voice note back by selecting it and clicking the :video_play_button: play button.

  2. Audio playback supports features such as synchronous playback and time-stamp-specific commenting.

Audio Keyboard Shortcuts

Action Keyboard Shortcut
Play/Pause Spacebar: Press to Play; press again to Pause. This Play/Pause toggle functionality does not interfere with the workspace pan ON/OFF feature.
Down Arrow: Press to Play; press again to Pause.
Fast Forward Right Arrow: Pressing this key (in Play mode) allows you to fast forward per the number of seconds that aligns with the value designated for this control. (10 seconds, for example)
Rewind Left Arrow: Pressing this key (in Play mode) allows you to rewind per the number of seconds that align with the value designated for this control. (10 seconds, for example)

Exiting the Audio Player

  1. Select the audio player.

  2. From the :more_options: (More) menu, select Close.
