Using image revisions

Using image revisions in a workspace

Image revisions allow you to replace an image in your Bluescape workspace while keeping a history of previous versions. This makes it easy to update images, compare changes, and switch between revisions without having to upload and organize multiple copies in your workspace.

Image Revisions are especially useful when collaborating on designs, reviewing creative assets, or working with content that changes over time.

Replacing an Image

You can replace any image in your workspace with a new image from your computer.

To replace an image:

  1. Select the image you want to replace in your workspace.

  2. Click the Replace Image :replace_image: icon in the image toolbar.

  3. Select the new image from your computer.

  4. The selected image is replaced with the new version in your workspace.

The previous image is automatically saved in the revision history, allowing you to access it again at any time.

BluePro Tip: Use Image Revisions to update images without having to delete and reinsert them into your workspace. This helps keep your content organized and makes it easier to manage changes over time.

Viewing Image Revisions

Bluescape automatically tracks previous versions of an image whenever it is replaced. You can view these revisions and see which version is currently displayed in your workspace.

To view image revisions:

  1. Select an image that has been replaced at least once.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Replace Image icon in the image toolbar.

  3. The Image Revisions menu opens, displaying the available versions of the image.

  4. Each revision includes a thumbnail, file name, and date and time.

  5. A checkmark indicates which revision is currently displayed in your workspace.

Switching Between Image Revisions

You can switch between previous versions of an image at any time.

To switch to a different revision:

  1. Select the image in your workspace.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Replace Image icon.

  3. In the Image Revisions menu, find the version you want to display.

  4. Click the desired revision to display it in your workspace.

You can repeat these steps to switch between any of the available revisions.

BluePro Tip: Use Image Revisions during collaborative reviews to quickly compare different designs, concepts, or versions of an image without cluttering your workspace with duplicate files.

Common Ways to Use Image Revisions

Image Revisions make it easier to manage visual content as it evolves. Here are three common ways to use this feature:

1. Review Design Iterations

Keep track of changes to designs, mockups, and other creative assets as your team works through multiple iterations.

Replace an image with an updated design and switch between revisions to review how it has evolved.

2. Update Maps and Visual Information

Replace maps, diagrams, or other visual references as new information becomes available.

Previous versions remain accessible, making it easy to reference earlier information or compare changes over time.

3. Collaborate on Creative Reviews

Use Image Revisions to share updated creative assets with your team while keeping previous versions available for reference.

This is especially useful for reviewing marketing materials, presentation graphics, and other visual content that goes through multiple rounds of feedback.
