How to Nest, Edit, Hyperlink to, Copy, Delete, or Search for a Canvas

What is a Canvas?

Canvases allow you to organize content within the workspace. You can combine individual assets within a canvas to easily present, locate, and share information. A single canvas may contain one or more assets; in addition, multiple canvases can be nested or layered – one within the other.

See How to Create a Canvas to learn how to create a canvas.

Nesting Canvases Within Canvases

You can nest canvases, performing this action in one of two ways: Creating a new canvas (which will include existing canvases) or nesting an existing canvas within a larger one.

Create A New Canvas Around Existing Ones

To create a new canvas around one or more existing canvases:

  1. Select the canvas_icon (Canvas) icon in the workspace toolbar.

  2. The Canvas Size modal opens, providing options for the size of your canvas.

  3. Select a canvas size that is large enough to contain the existing canvases.

  4. Drag the canvas in the desired position, then select to insert it.

Nest One Existing Canvas Inside Another One

To nest an existing canvas within a larger canvas, the canvas inside must fit entirely within the other canvas’s frame.

  1. Identify two separate workspace canvases.
  2. Select the canvas title of the smaller canvas.
  3. Once the canvas is highlighted, drag it into the larger destination canvas.

When you move the larger canvas, the smaller canvas moves with it.
