How to Change the Background Color of a Workspace (Web)

You can change the background color of a workspace on the web client if you are the workspace owner. If you’re working on the Bluescape Wall, here’s how to change your workspace background color.

Light mode is particularly useful if you want the workspace to look like a whiteboard.

Note: You can set the color theme for all My Bluescape pages and any new workspaces you create from your profile page. This controls not only the color of the workspace background but also of menus and toolbars. For more information, see Accessing Your Profile.

To change the background color of your workspace:

  1. Click the Screen Shot 2021-11-01 at 4.11.27 PM (more options) icon at the top left of the workspace.
  2. A drop-down menu opens. Hover your mouse over the Background option.
  3. Another context menu opens. Click the Dark or Light option.

The background color of the workspace will change depending on your option. Dark background in dark mode is pictured above. A light background in dark mode is pictured below:

Notice that the toolbars and menus are still dark. To change the UI elements to a light color as well, you must change the Display Mode in your profile to Light mode.

Note: Any color for an existing notecard, text, or shape in a workspace is retained, even if the visibility is affected when you change the color scheme. For example, any white text you created when the workspace was in dark mode will remain white when you change to a light background.
